Nessa

40cm(16”) handmade natural fibre doll
I’d like you to meet little Nessa. She is one of my Sweet Child dolls, a style that I designed many years ago and over time have made little changes here and there as the mood takes me. She is a slender doll with a stunningly beautiful face.

I have embroidered the facial details using hard wearing but beautifully softly coloured tapestry wool and added just a hint of colour to the cheeks with beeswax crayon. The hair is a hand crocheted mohair wig. These little wigs take me forever to make but it's a very meditative process and deeply satisfying. Once the wig is complete it is gently bathed in water and when dry I stitch it on the the head and for Nessa I’ve cut her hair into a sweet little bob.

Nessa is a Playground Doll, all swings , slides and picnics. All her clothes are wool and handknit by me from my original patterns and are in a circus of joyful colours. There are three mother of pearl buttons to secure her smock top and a small wooden wren button on the front just because

Nessa is 40cm, 16" tall.
This doll and the doll clothes are fully hand washable
I have created this doll as a COLLECTORS DOLL.
This doll is not suitable for children aged under four years as small parts and long hair present a choking hazard.
